When aluminium profile comes out of the extruder, the temperature is about 550°C and not many materials can stand such high temperature for long time. PBO fiber is the kind of material that can resist high temperature up to 600°C. The needle-punched roller sleeve that composed of PBO and Para-Aramid is ideal to use at extrusion initial area and beginning of the run-out table. It is the density of the POB layer enables the roller sleeve to work continuously under temperature of 550°C, and at the same time to stand the abrasion from different shapes of the profile.

Para-Aramid Roller Sleeve
The temperature of the profile will lower down to 450°C when it is transferred about 10 meters to the run-out table, and at this stage the best material is Para-Aramid roller sleeve. There are two types of roller sleeve: green roller sleeve (85% Para-Aramid + 15% SFO fiber) and yellow ones (100% Para-Aramid). High density is the key factor for good abrasion resistance and our standard is 400g/m2 •mm, i.e. for 10mm roller sleeve the weight per square meter is 4000g/m2. Moreover, resin treatment is available on request for better abrasion resistance and longer service life.

Meta-Aramid Roller Sleeve
Meta-Aramid roller sleeve can resist temperature up to 280°C, and mainly used in the storage area of heavy duty extruders (more than 2500T).
The profile from a heavy duty extruder is comparable thicker, and the temperature is likely still over 180°C after the second stage cooling table, therefore the roller sleeves made of polyester fiber are not suitable for such case.

Polyester Roller Sleeve
Polyester roller sleeve can resist temperature of 180°C. As low temperature consumables in aluminium extrusion industry, polyester roller sleeve is mainly used for storage area and saw table.
When the profile reaches the storage area after the cooling table, the temperature is lowered to less than 50°C, which is completely within temperature range of polyester roller sleeve, and the service life can be as long as 3 years.
